Junior Tennis
Welcome to The Excellence Tennis Academy. Our philosophy of “get better every day,” is delivered through the latest teaching methods by top-level professional coaches. Whether a beginner or professional, we are committed to offering a full pathway for your tennis development. We are fortunate to be supported by The Excellence Tennis Foundation and Five Seasons Sports Clubs. With their support we are able to offer some of the lowest priced training in the country, as well as scholarships to a majority of our players.
Ignition
Our ignition program is designed to create lifetime tennis players, whether they become tournament players, play for their school team, or go to play recreationally. We want to provide sounds fundamentals and teach the class within the parameters created by USTA.
E "Earn your X"
These are players who are starting tournament play or who are interested in pursing the tournament pathway. Typically players who take regular private lessons.
Young EX
14 & Under-Players who are USTA tournament players and moving along the high performance tournament player pathway. This group follows a very similar pathway to EX.
EX
Tournament & Varsity High School- Players who are ranked USTA tournament players or top Varsity High School players. This program focuses on situational play and tactics, pattern development, specific drills designed to improve overall game and on-court awareness, and has helped produce numerous collegiate players.
Adult Tennis
Programs focus on tennis fundamentals. Learn the game and begin playing immediately in a fun and social environment.
Monthly Drill Options
Our Drill and Play clinics consist of weekly themed practices with emphasis on double tactics, strategy and situational point play.
Clinics: Senior Drill & Play, Men’s Night, Round Robin, Cardio Tennis, Pickleball.

Director of Junior Tennis
Dan Kronauge
Dan was a Division I All American tennis player and played on the ATP tour where he reached 175th in doubles on the tour. He has coached over 15 state champions, 1 national champion and 4 All-Americans. His expertise has produced over 50 college level student athletes earning over $2.5 million in scholarships. Dan was named to the Tennis Magazines Rolex Collegiate All-Star Team.

Associate Tennis Director
Rob Lehner
Rob joins Five Seasons after 8 years experience at Wickertree Tennis & Fitness Club in Columbus Ohio. Rob was formerly the Jr Program Director at Medallion Country Club and Pickleball Director at Worthington Hills Country Club. He has 8 years of high school coaching experience working with 7 state qualifiers, including two as state runner ups. At Wickertree, Rob was the USTA Jr Tournament Director running over 150 local tournaments along with 5 elevated Midwest tournaments. He also ran Jr Team Tennis with over 60 players yearly. In 2019, his 18 and under advanced team placed 4th in the nation.

Tennis Professional
Al Pico
Al is a certified member of the United States Professional Tennis Association, the United States Racquet Stringers Association, and an active member of the United States Tennis Association. While in high school and junior college, Al won numerous awards and was ranked nationally. He is certified in High Performance with Sanchez/Casal Spanish Training System and Etcheberry certified in performance training for tennis. Al is on Babolat’s advisory staff.

Tennis Professional
Bob Downey
Bob has over 13 years of teaching experience working with both juniors and adults. He played tennis and coached at Sinclair Community College. He was also the assistant coach at Wright State University. Bob coached and instructed at the Cincinnati Five Seasons when it opened in 2001 and then went to Springhurst Tennis Center in Louisville as junior director. He has worked with nationally ranked juniors that received scholarships at top Division 1 schools including Notre Dame, University of Kentucky and Xavier. Bob enjoys working with young junior players and helping them develop into better players and teaching them how to enjoy tennis as a life long sport.
